Our guiding spirit is the lady from Emblem 26 of Michael Maier's alchemical text, Atalanta Fugiens (1617): The Tree of Life is the fruit of Human Wisdom In human affairs there is no greater wisdom, Than that from which arise wealth and health. In her right hand she keeps a long life in good health. but her left hand conceals overwhelming treasures. When somebody approaches her with head and hand, She will be for him of the same value as the fruit of the Tree of Life. We hope to bring forth this spirit in all we do.		Back to essays
