About The Event
Handwritten books have always been associated with magical knowledge, from grimoires like the Key of Solomon down to the modern Wiccans' Book of Shadows. They are personal, too: secret diaries, scrapbooks, sketchbooks. In this workshop, Hannah Sanders explores the art of keeping a grimoire. She offers guidance on making and keeping your own Black Book to aid your magic work. She covers: best times and tides for making your book; magic inks you can make and write with; tips on writing; how you can dedicate the book; and the range of designs that you can use.
Hannah Sanders is a longstanding practitioner of folk and herb magic. She was the last apprentice of writer and tarot reader Joyce Collin-Smith, and she is the granddaughter of a well-known Irish fortune teller. She has a doctorate in anthropology and professionally, she is a traditional folk singer.
