Subtitled, ‘Queering the Greek Myths,’ this concise exploration delves into the ways in which Greek mythology has been adapted into hugely popular queer retellings in recent years.

This book takes the form of three parts, each focusing on one aspect of the popular culture phenomenon of mythological retellings. The first part centres on the way in which retellings have emerged as a fiction genre. The second part delves into how these stories remain relevant in the modern world. The final part of this book solely examines the ways in which contemporary authors have ‘re-queered’ the timeless stories of Greek myth, adapting them so that audiences can get the most out of the themes and motifs that have infiltrated society for so many decades.
