The Thoth Tarot was created in the early 1940s by Aleister Crowley in collaboration with the artist Frieda Harris. The Book of Thoth was written by Crowley as an in-depth guide to his tarot, but it is more than that: it is a dazzling work in its own right, a brilliant commentary on magick and mysticism packed with erudite references to history, religion, literature and music.
